Celebrating Principals Who Create Lasting Impacts

At Gulf Coast Educators FCU, we’re honored to celebrate the dedication and leadership of Texas principals through our Principal of the Year Awards. This program recognizes exceptional principals across our membership, shining a spotlight on those who inspire students, support teachers, and make a lasting impact in their schools and communities.

The votes are in!

This year, we received 663 nominations from 33 school districts across Texas for our 2025 Principal of the Year Award. From these nominations, our committee selected four outstanding finalists, and the public had the opportunity to vote for their favorite.

We’re thrilled to announce that Matt Cooper from Dickinson ISD has been named GCEFCU’s 2025 Principal of the Year, earning the $2,500 grand prize. Congratulations, Matt, and thank you to everyone who participated in honoring the incredible principals who lead and inspire our schools every day!
